Is it true that all of us have something hidden inside that we don't want others to find out? Like a kind of hidden personality within all of us, a side that we do not want to portray to others, a darker side in other words. As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. What you see on the outside may not be what you get on the inside.
Inner Darkness is something you don't just show to anyone, even family members. Most of the time they are only revealed to people who are really close to you, people whom you know you can trust, people you know who makes an impact to your life. This is especially true when you are in a relationship with someone. maybe this is how the term 'true colours' came to exist.
I tend to cherish friends who have already showed me 'the other side' of them. I feel that it brings our friendship to another level since what we see in each other is not just a facade that is portrayed to everyone else. It goes again to show that they're able to trust you with their secrets and things that they do not want to share with other. I hope they feel the same way too.
All in all, inner darkness is something that each and everyone possesses. The reason why we do not reveal them to others is simple: not everyone would be comfortable with our inner darkness and therefore we are afraid to show them to others as there is a possibility that friendships may be compromised and that others may not like the darker side of us.
